Important Aspects to Consider When Starting a Blog

Before delving into the realms of blogging there are a few important aspects you need to consider. Countless numbers of people start blogging because they have read easily it can bring them huge riches, or great exposure in their bid to become a superstar. This is true, it can certainly give you all these things, that’s only if you have the correct fundamentals.

Love your subject

One of the prime reasons for starting a blog should be because of your love for the blogs topic. There is no point in starting a blog about what you think people want to hear, you should start one to express what you think people need to hear. You need to blog about what you love doing, this way you will stay interested and keep the blog regularly updated which is a key factor in keeping regular followers. If you wish to blog about an array of topics I suggest having separate blogs, you don’t want your users getting lost in a sea of content.

Quality Content

Have a dictionary at hand while you write, your grammar and spelling needs to be perfect so you can produce high quality articles. This way people are much more likely to keep coming back to check up on what you have to say.

Hosting and Domain names

There are 2 options when it comes to how you want your blog to look on the internet, you can either pay or have a freely hosted blog. Lets have a look at the differences:
Free, this is when you go to blogger or wordpress and setup a free blogging account. This will give you a free platform to setup a blog and add posts, great if you want to test out blogging. It will however limit you to a blogger or wordpress domain name which is long, hard to remember and harder to rank in search engines. Another limitation is the fact you have very limited customisation, you get set themes which can barely be changed.

Paid Hosting and Domains, this is where you pay for a domain name unique to your blog. Domain registration is found at places like godaddy and namecheap. Domain names are the names you see in the URL bar of your browser, and are usually related to the content of the web page. So in this case you need to find a domain name that relates to the topic of your blog. Once you have registered your domain you need hosting, this is an online space where your files and posts will be kept. I recommend hostgator, they are an American company but still offer outstanding worldwide support.

Once there is a domain name and hosting plan, you need to install wordpress. WordPress is the standard platform used by thousands or bloggers. This can be done by going to quick install on your control panel and selecting install wordpress. WordPress gives you the ability to customise your website via different themes, and manage users easily. A paid blog on average for just hosting and domain name will cost around $8/£5 a month to run, quite reasonable.

Layout

They way you lay your site out is crucial in giving your readers the best interface in which to read your content. For instance you don’t want a blog about photography and art being swamped with text, and you don’t want a blog on literature being swamped with pictures etc. With wordpress you need to find a theme that suits your needs, you can find a huge amount of free themes or pay for premium themes, that make your site stand out that little bit more. It’s a hassle changing the theme at a later date so find a theme and stick with it.

Another important aspect when setting up your blog is NOT to swamp it with advertisements. You want to show off the quality of your content, adverts can bring this down and you will lose readers.
I hope this post has given you a slight insight into what you need to consider when starting a blog. Please leave any questions in the comment below thanks.

Fun Halloween Templates and Printables

I recall the past year that I went out trick or treating. My best friend and I were 14. She dressed up like a Granny Goose and i also dressed up just like a Snow White Costume. We were both tall for our age – and with the help of halloween make-up cosmetics, I am absolutely sure we seemed significantly older than we were. In spite of this, we weren’t ready for the snarky feedback from most of the treat-givers.

“Are not the two of you too older for being trick or treating?’ they said scornfully.

Speak about party poopers!

Last night, my 7-year-old little girl and I got discussing these curmudgeons and now we both agreed that it’s a pretty stupid community rule that you must quit trick or treating when you reach your teens. Actually, I believe it might be really enjoyable to have an older trick or treat evening.

Fortunately, I be able to raid my kids’ trick or treat bags after they go to sleep – although not everybody has this kind of opportunity.

To help you to put a little bit child-like exciting back into your halloween party, I searched in the internet for a few fun halloween printables and templates and I found this pretty Luvly website that surely you will love for this coming halloween events . If you occur to get using a halloween themed wedding, feel free to use these. Or simply use all of them for any halloween party.

Best Ever Before Blogging Tips: All the Best Ideas and Suggestions for…First-time Bloggers!

This impressive tips gathered from another blogger is perfect for the newcomer, freshman bloggers. The ones simply just sinking their own feet in the Blogosphere pool (come inside, the water is good!), and those nevertheless but to really make the step.

It is also filled with very good small parts for people who are already running a blog for a short time, yet who experience certainly missing their way, or simply need a fast refresher tutorial on most of the great ideas.

Therefore relax, as well as get ready for many severe words of knowledge coming from most of my personal favorite bloggers.

My greatest ever tips for – first-time bloggers are...

Carly, www.smaggle.com - "Get involved. Read other blogs, join in the conversation and network like a mofo. Also find your own voice. It can be very tempting to mimic other bloggers that you admire but the best version of yourself is better than a mediocre version of someone else."

Robyn, www.mrsdplus3.com - "Go for it, get stick in and be yourself.  Also read read read!  There is so much information available on the internet to help out with every single aspect of blogging, you just need to find it and read it."

Nikki Parkinson, www.stylingyou.com.au - "Don't be urgent in attempting to grow your blog. Be original, be present on your blog and be part of this amazing community. Be prepared to put in long hours - just like any business - before you make your first dollar."

Bron, maxabellaloves.blogspot.com - "Make sure your blog looks the way you want it to before you 'go live'. First impressions count a lot."

Stacey, www.theveggiemama.com - "Be friendly"

Sarah, www.licoriceandolives.com - "Ask, ask, ask - everyone has been a newbie before, so reach out to blogs you enjoy and ask any questions you have."

Jaz, reddolls.com.au - "Don’t focus on stats and don’t worry about what others are doing, just focus on being the best you. Don’t worry about not knowing what you’re doing either, blogging is something that you learn over time as you play with your site and get more comfortable and adventurous, everything will happen in it’s own time."

Glenda, healthystories.com.au - "Understand that it takes time to build up a blog and get people to comment and interact with you. Don’t expect overnight miracles, but keep plugging away and promoting your blog."

Kayla, www.zangle.com.au - "Do it because you love it!"

Sash, www.inkedincolour.com - "Just be yourself. Everyone else is already taken. Don't worry about what other bloggers and doing. Get involved. Read lots of blogs. Talk to other bloggers. But don't compare. Comparison is the death of all joy."

Rashida, www.projectmum.com.au - "Write about what you love and ensure the post has content that'll help someone. Don't be discouraged."

Anne, www.epicureanepistles.com - "Don’t get too hung up on getting immediate feedback, just keep at it … keep trying to make your blog the best it can be."

Eva, www.themultitaskingmummy.com - "Don’t blog for the sake of blogging. You have to be passionate about what you write, you have to wake up excited about your blog and you have to be willing to put a lot of time and effort in for it to be successful. Write about what you enjoy."

The most significant secrets and techniques of blogging is all about pay attention to your readers, and even more so setting up a place where your group feels like they would like to share with you in the first place!

It is all nicely and great to get encouraged through another blogger, but there is absolutely no point trying to copy their blog, as well as to try and write in their voice, or even dress like they dress if it is not exactly what comes to you normally anyway. Readers can easily smell a faker a mile away, you are a lot better off just simply looking at your own personal style, tone and quirks (trust me, that you are amazing enough just as you're to become great at this kind of thing!)

Maximizing white space on your own blog is really a fast way for you to make the blog look cleaner.
Additionally, a clean sidebar can certainly help your visitors concentrate on your articles, which is certainly a very important part of your blog.

Try to make Pictures Fit the Width of Your Content.

Mix up Your Typography.
Move away from Arial, Century Gothic, and Georgia temporarily. When you have not started off using Google Fonts (free) or Typekit (paid membership) but, these days will be the time to get started.  Diversifying your fonts is definitely a simple way renew your blog design and style and give it a great updated look.

Start using a variety of sans-serif as well as serif fonts.
For the most part, combine serif headings and sans-serif text or the other way round. But do not hesitate for being very creative. You can use Amazing Magazine’s great article about typefaces that will help you customize the typography in your blog.

Shorten Your Navigation.
Rather than having fifteen list items in your primary navigation, consider using drop down menus that will help organize your list options. Your navigation menu is one of the very first things your online visitors see. Minimize clutter, and don’t overcome your visitors by using a trillion menu options at the same time.

Did your blog follow the tips about this particular list? And how will you maintain your blog look good?
